Greetings,

 

I am using a microcontroller (LabJack U3) to control 8 pcf8574 chips. I have no trouble writing data to the chips, but when I try to read back data, I don't get anything. The microcontroller that I'm using claims to control the direction (read/write) of the outputs so I do not send a R/W bit. I wonder if this is the problem. Has anyone used a microcontroller that also externally controls the chips? Have there been any problems with reading bytes because of this?
