Hi, I am reading the thread which is answered at below URL.

Could you please give me further explanation as I could not understand ?

Q1) For TXP and TXN side, can TUSB1310A designer swap the TXP and TXN without care ?

Q2) For RXP and RXN side, TUSB1310A needs to know if the transimitting IC is swapping TXP and TXN. How does the device detect polarity inversion ?
It seems that TUSB1310A would need to detect polarity and then control RX_POLARITY pin.

Hello,

The RX_POLARITY and TX_POLARITY are signals of the PIPE interface.

When the other end of the USB link has its TX inverted, the USB3 link layer controller will detect this during the training sequences, then the LLC will tell to the TUSB1310A to invert the data on its RX[] buffer by asserting RX_POLARITY.

The TUSB1310A does not detect the polarity inversion, this is detected by the LLC.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I am understanding as the followings when using TUSB1310A for USB3.0. Please correct me if my recognition is wrong.

- TX side : Designer can invert the polarity without care.

- RX side : Designer must control the receiving polarity based on the polarity information from the Link Layer Controller.
