I designed a board with the XIO2001 and PCI1520 chip. The idea being that we need to use a PCMCIA/Cardbus card in a PCI-e interface environment. However Windows-7 apparently sees the XIO2001, but doesn't load any driver for the PCI1520. When a PCMCIA card is plugged in nothing happens. I followed the application notes guidelines for both chips. So, I was wondering where the design went wrong. Please help.

Hello Elias,

Any update on the review of my schematic that I sent? I am still having problems getting the OS (Win 7) to see that there is PCMCIA bridge and load the drivers for it. It's like the PCI1520 chip isn't on the board. The PCI-e interfaces appears to be good and the Xio2001 active. Let me know of any possible reasons for the misbehavior. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.

I reviewed the schematic and only found one error:

Terminal PRST# of the PCI1520 should be connected to terminal PRST# on the XIO2001, right now you have PCI1520's PRST# connected to PERST#.

Yeah, I rerouted the signal and still haven't seen any activity from PCI1520. Does it need an EEPROM connected with register settings to make it properly perform?
