DS90UB925 serializer with DS90UH926 deserializer

Hi.

Ist it possible to pair a DS90UB925 serializer (without HDCP) with an DS90UH926 deserilizer (HDCP)?

We don't want to stream HDCP protected content. But in the display we have to drive the deserilizer with HDCP functionality is assembled.

    Hi Michael,

    Yes, the DS90UB925 serializer will interoperate with a DS90UH926 deserilizer. The HDCP feature will be unavailable when connecting to an ‘UB’ device.

    Thank you very much for your helpful answer.

    I still have another question.

    Is it also posibble to pair a DS90UR905Q with an DS90UB926.

    Problem is that we don't have access to the DS90UB926 to change the compatibility mode.

    Can the DS90UB926 automatically detect that there is FDP II serializer on the other side?

    Hi Michael,

    Yes, the DS90UB926 is backwards compatible with the DS90UR905. In the DS90UB926 datasheet, refer to Table 4. Configuration Select (MODE_SEL) and mode #9.

    Unfortunately, the DS90UB926 cannot automatically detect the connected serializer and will have to be configured by the strap pins.
