DS90CR285 Channel Link Transmitter Jitter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CR285

I am interfacing to a camera that is using a DS90CR285 transmitter chip to implement a base mode camera link interface.  The camera has a 200 MHz crystal oscillator that is input to a Xilinx Virtex 4 FPGA to generate a 50 MHz clock input to the transmitter chip.  The output clock from the transmitter chip appears to have 3 modes of frequencies that it operates at.  Is this a known issue for this chip?  Why does this jitter occur and what can be done to eliminate it?  The frame grabber that we have chosen to use to interface to this camera uses a Xilinx receiver that has problems with this jittery clock. I have searched the forums and blogs and not been successful at finding anything related to this issue.

  • Hi,

I also have a jitter problem with DS90CR285 in a camera from a 2015 production. The jitter is not present in a 2013 or 2014 camera.
    The DS90CR285 marking is:

    2013/2014 production:
    2M27ABE3/2M26ACE3
    DS90CR285MTD
    3V327

    2015 production:
    3ACDHXUG3
    DS90CR285MTD
    067.0

Is there any difference between 2013/2014 parts and 2015 ? What does mean theses markings ?

    Thank you.
