Im currently working on a http://www.beyondinfinite.com/lcd/Library/LG-Philips/LM240WU2-SLB4.pdf lcd panels striped out of an Old Imac. The control board and inverter work as well at the original power supply. Nothing wrong with the panel back-lighting all still functioning.
Now my question is I've read from multiple sources that the LVDS cable from the Imacs control board can be directly spliced onto a DVI connector, however I suspect this might only be possible for single channel LVDS not the Dual channel this screen uses. If direct link is not possible I was considering the http://www.ti.com/product/ds90c387a paired with a DVI receiver of some kind, if this becomes the course of action what else would I need to make the interface using these two chips? Thank you for your time.
