DS26C31TM transient question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS26C31T

What is the maximum voltage the outputs can tolerate?  I read -0,5 to 7.0v in the datasheet.  I have a situation where the ground between the driver and receiver may have reached -20V peak for 100 to 200 microseconds.  The driver was positive with respect to the receiver.

  • Hi MG74275,

I apologize for the delay with someone getting back to you on this question. I have notified the engineer that supports these products and hope that they will get back to you soon.

    Thanks,

    John

  • The maximum voltage the DS26C31T outputs are guaranteed to tolerate is listed in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table in the datasheet:

DC Output Voltage: -0.5V to +7V

The outputs must be kept within this range to avoid damage to the device, and we cannot guarantee that the device will not be damaged if exposed to voltages exceeding this range.
