Hi,

I am currently using the DS92LX2121/DS92LX2122 Channel Link III chip set for a touch screen user interface. I am working on an application that will require a single touch screen user interface to be switched between up to 8 systems. Is there a crosspoint switch available that can multiplex multiple systems to a single user interface and still provide that back channel? Or is there another option available that would provide the switching function?

    Greetings -

    I have used analog switches in the past as they dont block the back channel.

    Hi Bradley,

    Check out the HD3SS3412 / HD3SS3415 High-Performance Differential Switches which do support bidirectional interfaces.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the feedback. Do you have a specific device that you used? I am currently using an ADG1207 and the back channel is not working with this device. I'm still investigating why, but it appears that the series resistance of the closed switch is to high and causing the high frequencies to be attenuated.

    I looked at these devices but unfortunately they are not configured in a way meet my design requirements. I'm looking for an 8:1 multiplexer so as to be able to switch 8 controllers between a single display.

    As I mentioned to John, I am currently using an ADG1207 but the back channel is not working and the high frequencies are being attenuated. This could be due to the series resistance of the closed switch but is more likely due to the roll off of the device. At 250MHz the attenuation is about -8dB.

    The display (data) itself is clean.  I can switch between controllers and Lock returns immediately between the Deserializer and Serializer. It's just the back channel that is not working.

    Would there be any issues with stacking up 3 HD3SS3412 devices to make an 8:1 mux?
