Hi,

I'd like to ask about SN65HVD72.

Is this device fully compatible with RS-422(ANSI TIA/EIA-422)?

My customer is looking for the device that is fully compatible with RS-422. Can I introduce this device?

I want to know the SN65HVD30 too.

Yes. The RS-485 standard is slightly stronger than RS-422, so both devices can support RS-422 as well.

There are a couple of items I should have mentioned previously.

For the SN65HVD72, note that the driver differential output voltage magnitude only meets the RS-422 standard for T_Jgreater than zero degrees C. Additionally the short circuit output current magnitude is 160mA, slightly greater than the 150mA spec for RS-422. Both of these items can be seen on page 4 of the datasheet.

For the SN65HVD30, the short circuit output current magnitude is 250mA, exceeding the RS-422 spec of 150mA.
