SN65HVD72 - power pad question

Hello,

This device come in the SON-8 package. This has a exposed pad. I would like to know if this can be connected to GND or it should just be connected to its own isolated heat-sink?

I suspect ground should be fine, but I will have to check the internal connections to be sure. If you have parts on hand, you can check if the power pad is connected to the positive supply. If it is not, then ground will be fine.

The power pad is tied to ground, so connecting it to ground in your layout is appropriate.
