I have recently modelled the DS90C387 Flatlink LVDS transmitter in Hyperlynx to investigate transmission line effects on a new design. (I am driving 6 x '388 receivers from one '387 transmitter on a FR4 backplane.)
Using the '387 IBIS model gives very spurious ouput from the '387 part. Substituting a more generic LVDS driver such as the LVDS387DGG gives good results and more or less what I would expect to see. I have even tried driving a 100R load directly from the DS90C387 part without a transmission line (ideal case) and the output is still all over the place.
Can you confirm that the output from the Flatlink parts such as the DS90C387 is generic LVDS and no different from any other LVDS line driver and/or suggest where I may be going wrong with the simulation?
Thanks in advance.
