Hi:

I am currently looking into implement a USB 3.0 port on my new design.

I am looking at either the TUSB 7340 and TUSB 1310A.

the TUSB7340 have a PCIe interface.

while the TUSB1310a has the PIPE interface...

the board I am working is a stand alone and only a Xlinx FPGA virtex 7 on board.

which USB 3.0 device will easier to implement on this FPGA board or if you have any other USB 3.0 device that you can recommend.

Hello,

The TUSB1310A is only a USB3.0 PHY whereas the TUSB7340 is a USB3.0 xHCI Host Controller.

The TUSB7340 requires to be connected to a PCIe Host with xHCI support.

The TUSB1310A can be connected to an FPGA with PIPE interface, here the FPGA must implement the Link Layer of the USB standard.

Since I only have the FPGA so it is impractical to use the TUSB7340 correct ?

then for the TUSB1310A. how difficult it is to implement either a PIPE or ULPI interfaces for the LINK Layer ?

Does Ti have an Evaluation Board for this device ?
