Our customer is considering to use HD3SS3412 for XAUI / SGMII application.

They will have Hotswap connection, can this device be used for such application without damage ?

Do you need some protection circuit ?

The HD3SS3412 device is a high-speed passive switch capable operating up to 12 Gbps. There shouldn't be any problem to support a 10 Gbps protocol.

Yes, we understand it is a high speed passive switch. Customer question was that if there is any problem using in hotswap application. Could you please give us your comment on this portion ?
