Using DP83620 devices in multidrop master-slave mode using Fiber Optic Splitters

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83620

I am considering use of DP83620 PHY on a fiber optic splitter network. One device (called Master) will be connected to the main fiber, and one each at the tributaries (called slaves). The main fiber PHY (i.e. master)  will be transmitting continuously at 100 Mbps (to be received by all slaves), whereas the one at the trubutaries will be transmitting one at a time using some scheduling algorithm. The slave PHYs connected to the tributaries will be receiving continuously , whereas the master PHY on the main fiber will be receiving frames intermitttanty.

My queries are

1.  Should put the master PHY at the main fiber  in full duplex mode and the slave PHYs at the tributaries in half duplex mode?

2. Do I need to disable the far-end fault mechanism on both master and slave PHYs? This is because either transmission or recetion is intended to be intermittant and hence the far-end fault feature should not affect the operation.

3. I intend to put the tributary slave PHYs in Synchronous ethernt mode so that the data received by  the master PHY from different slave PHYs at the tributaries, though intermittant and one at a time, will be synchronized with the master's clock and hence can be combined (or multiplexed). Please comment.

4. How can the slave PHY's transmit at the tribuaries be switched off when not sending data? Using TX_EN signal? This is essential because the main PHY should receive data from only one PHY at a time, and hence all tributary slave PHYs, except the intended one should switch off their optical transmission when not sending their data.
