Does anyone know if the dp83620 will work with either the generic Linux PHY driver or the national driver which is for the dp83865? Has anyone used this device with LInux? Thanks.
The DP83620 should work with the generic Linux MDIO driver for basic Ethernet functionality. I have not tested the DP83620 explicitly, but the DP83848 shares the same basic IEEE register set as the DP83620 and has been tested to verify the functionality.
The DP83620 does not support 1588 so you will not be able to use the DP83640 1588 driver.
However, there is a generic PHY driver that will work with the DP83620: git.kernel.org/.../dp83848.c
