Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SCANSTA112

Hi,

I cannot see the various devices connected to the scanbridge chip

if  I want to test the actual scan bridge chip, is it possible to put it  in pass through mode then using a signal generator & scope, check relevant outputs is that possible?

set:

Trans=High

SB/#S =Low

#OE=Low

 LSP's=High

Then any TCK should appear on the relevant output?

  • Hi Steve,

    I assume what you mean by pass through mode is Transparent Mode in the spec.

    It is not as simple as what you are proposing. The easiest way is to select Transparent Mode and use the logic inputs to select(unpark) the desired LSP. This can be accomplished, upon Reset,  via external pins on the device(i.e. you don’t need to utilize the Backplane Port).  Once in Transparent Mode, you will need to insure you do not reset the SCANSTA112 TAP controller as the selected LSP will unpark if you do. So keep TMSb low and TRSTn_b high.  This should keep all TAP controllers(the 112’s and the LSP’s) in the Run-Test/Idle state and you should see the selected LSPx_TCK. You will not see anything on the LSP’s TDO because it will be tri-stated due to the fact the selected LSPx’s TAP is not in either Shift-DR or Shift-IR TAP states.
