DP83816 seems to indicate support for up to 4096 bytes from the packet length spec in the descriptors.
We wanted to use the device for up to this size.
a) Is it possible by setting ALP bit in RXCFG (0x0034) register? It is not clear if the device merely marks it as long packet or it actually rejects it.
b) Would transmit chain have any issue with long packets.
Nevertheless, if there is a mode setting which will enable us to use it for up to 4096 sizes it would be great. There would be only one such device on the PCI bus so DMA to / from the FIFO wouldn't be an issue for us.
