DS92LX1622/21 Configurable Data Throughput

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS92LX1621

Hi,

according to the Datasheet the Data Throughput is Configurable in the following steps:

  • 12–bit (min) up to 600 Mbits/sec
  • 16–bit (def) up to 800 Mbits/sec
  • 18–bit (max) up to 900 Mbits/sec
The Problem is, i can't find any instructions to adjust this. The only way i can see, is to deactivate the GPIO Pins [2:5].

Is this right?

Does that mean that the Serial Bitstream of about 28 bit / pclk will be shortened to 24 bit / pclk?

If the CRC will be disabled, will the Bitstream also be shortened?

  • Greetings Victor,

DS92LX1621/22 transfer 14 bits of RGB/YUV + HSYNC + VSYNC + 2 GPIOs. So total we are transmitting and receiving 18 bits at 50MHs maximum(18X50E6 = 900Mbps). If for some reason we need to send either 16 bits or 12 bits then the overall throughput would be 16X50E6 or 12X50E6. In any of these cases(i.e 18, 16, or 12 bits) the serial bit stream stays the same. The device does not know whether it is being operated at 16 or 12 bits and it transmit/receive either 0 or 1(based on how you have terminated the unused pins) for the un-used bits. Please terminate un-used pins.
