How to transmit test video or image from my computer via fpdlink

I would like to come up with a solution to transmit test video or test images from my computer via FPDLink I, II, or III.  I would like to setup the computer to display the image on a second display and use a splitter on the video output.  I've looked at using a TFP4001A to go from HDMI to LVDS.  I then need to attach a serializer to get the FPDLink.  I believe that might work for FPDLink II and III but I may need another conversion to digital RGB.

I would like to buy this as an already constructed module also.  I'm not a circuit design guy and I know the speeds require special layout considerations.  I've looked at the EVBs and they seem like a good solution for me even if I need to attach a few together to get the desired solution.

I realize that to get the different FPDLink varieties that I will need to get the appropriate serializer for the application.

I know there are test images built into the newer serializers.  I may be able to take advantage of them but I still need to generate video so I need to somehow connect to a source like a computer.

There are things that I'm worried about that I don't really know how to address yet.  I need to understand how to set the screen size of the transmitted image/video.  I'll need to transmit I2S and I2C somehow.

I'm hoping to get advise on how I might be able to transmit selectable FPDLink images and video.

Thanks,

Mick
