DS100BR410 input/output polarity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100BR410

This question was paraphrased and posted on behalf of another user.

Is it okay to invert the polarity of the differential signal going in (IN_n+/-) and coming out (OUT_n+/-) of the DS100BR410 repeater?

Casey

  • Yes. The DS100BR410 repeater, like all repeaters, is polarity-agnostic, that is it does not care about the polarity of the input data or the polarity of the output data. The repeater will take the incoming signal, equalize it, and re-drive it with the same polarity. If the user chooses to invert the input and/or invert the output, that is okay. Note that the DS100BR410, like all repeaters, cannot actively invert the polarity of the data between the input and output. The polarity of the incoming data is preserved through the device; however the user can chose to invert the polarity of the data as they see fit on the input, output, or both.
