LMH0340 SDI mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0340Hi there, I have placed an LMH0340 on a board and I want to begin testing it. The FPGA will output 3G SDI. How can I set the LMH0340 to 3G mode - I am assuming its by setting the appropriate bits in register 21h ? The datasheet says that 11'b = DVB-ASI mode but does not specify what 00/01/10 mean? any help would be great on this. Thanks, Fergal Brennan
  • When the LMH0340 is set for "SDI Mode", the SDI rates are supported automatically.  To enable SDI mode, register 0x21 bits 1:0 can be set to any of the following: 00'b, 01'b, or 10'b (any of these are valid; it does not make a difference as to which of these three options you select to enable SDI mode).

Provided the data from the FPGA is properly formatted, the output of the LMH0340 will be compliant with SMPTE 259M-C (SD SDI), SMPTE 292M (HD SDI), or SMPTE 424M (3G SDI).
