Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB7320

Hi Team,

Our customer is evaluating TUSB7320. In their compliance test, TUSB7320 failed in RX jitter tolerance test.

They are using in the following environment.

OS : Window8
Driver : TUSB73x0 xHCI driver (downloaded from TI web)

[Question 1]
Does "TUSB73x0 xHCI driver" configure any register settings of TUSB7320 ?

[Question 2]
If the answer to Question 1 is "YES", please tell us which registers are configured.

[Question 3]
For the Equalizer setting, I am thinking that TUSB7320 default setting is OFF.
Which means that user would need to change setting to "Fully Adaptive, TTC Reversed" .
Am I correct ?

Please give us your help.

Best Regards,
Kawai

  • Hi Kawai,

TI's driver is only intended for Windows 7 and older versions of Windows (Vista and XP) since there is no xHCI driver support on those versions. In the other hand Windows 8 already includes its own xHCI driver stack, and that driver is the one that should be used. TI's xHCI driver should not be used on Win8 and later. Please use Windows 8 inbox xHCI driver.

    Best Regards,

    Alexis Cortes.

  • Hi Alexis-san,

I understand. I will ask customer to try using the Windows 8 inbox xHCI driver.

Thank you very much for the information.

    Best Regards,
    Kawai
