SN65HVD1792 operating at 3.3V VCC?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD1792

Team,

Extreme Networks was told by someone at TI that the SN65HVD1792 will operate at 3.3V even thought the datasheet states 5V.  They were told that the HVD1792 device will meet the datasheet specs of the HVD1781.  Is this correct?  they just need to re-comfirm and I'm new to the account so I have no idea who they got the info from.

Please confirm.

  • The HVD35 can operate at 5V although it's speced at 3.3V

The HVD1792 can operate at 3.3V although speced at 5V.

The 5.5MHz oscillation could come from PCB layout inductance forming an LCR system with the device capacitance and output impedance. It could be that the HVD35 is somehow dampening this LCR circuit so that no oscilations occur. This is the closest I can think of.

    regards,

    Thomas
