LMH0340 register

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0340

Hi there,

I have an LMH0340 on a custom board. I am in the bringup phase of testing. Right now I have no inputs at all on the LMH0340, but register 2A is showing a TXCLK lock detect?

Register 29 shows the value I expect, in that there is LOS on all signals. Can you tell me if there are reasons why this might happen that you are aware of?

Thanks,

FB

There is a state machine within the LMH0340 which is used for bringing up the part and getting it to run properly.  When there is a TX_CLK present, this drives the state machine and it goes through it's paces looking for input signals, configuring the part properly etc.   If there is no TX_CLK present, then there is a second 'Always on' clock which drives the state machine, and it is this that the TXCLK Lock Detect is seeing - this signal should not propagate outside the part to the 'LOCK' pin, but it can be seen via the registers.
