IEEE 1394 Legacy problem + Driver

Hi guys i'm having a problem with my RME Fireface 400. It is having crackling sounds and stuttering. I read about putting the IEEE 1394 on the (Legacy) one but in the list i dont have that version. I can only choose from: 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (old version)
Texas Instruments 1394 Compliant Host Controller. But none of them improve the situation. Does somebody know if i can download the 1394(legacy) somewhere or where i can update the IEEE 1394 driver?

Hello,

I know that Unibrain made some drivers for 1394, they may have something. The TI 1394 controller does not have any custom driver. It requires standard PCI-to-PCI bridge support and standard 1394 OHCI support.

If you can choose between two drivers, then those are the 'legacy' and new ones.
Apparently, your problems are not caused by the driver itself.

What FireWire host controller are you using?
Is it PCI or PCI Express?
