Dear Sir

I have use 4 pcs LVCP600S in my system. But out have big jitter.

The file is test picture and Layout. How to reduce jitter? Layout?

  • Hello Kerr,

First of all I want to discard the configuration issues,Could you provide the information of the following lengths for all 4 devices? and please attach the schematic of all the LVCP600S devices.

    • If the device is Host TX Topology.
      •  the Pre-Channel Trace + SATACable
      • Post-Channel Trace
    • If the device is Device TX Topology.
      •  Pre-Channel Trace
      • Post Channel Trace + SATA Cable

Also is recommendable to connect a capacitor close each configuration inputs tied to 1.

    Best regards,

    Diego.

    • Dear Diego

I mark the trace in the layout file, you can use the allegro to find their length.

The re-driver input is marked in white, and the re-driver ouput is marked in yellow.

We don't use SATA cable, our SATA connector is on the backplane board.

The input signal is from the SATA HDD on the backplane board

(the length on the backplane is around 3 inchs).

The ouput signal is connected to Intel PCH SATA RX port.

The SATA trace impedance on the MB/BP is 85 ohm instead of 100 ohm(follow Intel design guide).

Any information I missed, please let me know.
