TMDS361B clarification and application circuit

Hello all,

I have gone through the datasheet , but the comment in datasheet is creating doubt about this chip/IC "TMDS361B is not intended
for source side applications such as external switch boxes"

Could you give us more clarification and application circuit.

 We need a IC which will able switch external HDMI signal say Dish TV Input , DVD palyer Input, Playstation Input, etc  to one output one at a time.
b)  We should able to know which Input is selected.
c) We should able to select input based on software programming.

    Hello Syed,

    The TMDS361B incorporates a mechanism of adaptive equalization, this equalization is to compensate the signal loss due to the channel (in this case, the HDMI cable).

    This is why it is designed to be in the Sink side, in order to recover the signal after the channel loss.
