Inquiry regarding Vcc input diode on TPD4S009DGSR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD4S009

Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding Vcc input diode on TPD4S009DGSR from our customer, who is considering to replace from MAX3208EAUB+T.

When comparing these devices based on each datasheet, there are one different configuration on diode.

When referring Figure 1 on TPD4S009DGSR datasheet, this device has Vcc input diode.

Meanwhile, when referring Functional Diagram on page 4 of MAX3208EAUB+T, this device does not have. (please refer to the MAX3208EAUB+T datasheet on the website below.)

The concerning on customer side is whether this difference could affect on Breakdown voltage (VBR) characteristic.

We assume that the diode on TPD4S009DGSR is to avoid the ESD voltage applied on D1+/- and D2+/- from flowing into Vcc, therefore this could not affect on VBR.

Please let us clarify whether our understanding is correct.

We thank you in advance for your information.

Best regards,
