Loking for RS232 device, that has Fault-Protected like direct shorts to GND, or 20V

Eli,

All the RS232 receivers allow shorts to GND or 20V.
Most RS232 drivers allow shorts to GND or either 13.2V or 15V.

I could not find any drivers that allow shorts to 20V.

Were in the d/s I can see th at these devices has Fault-Protected like direct shorts to GND, or 20V at the OUTPUT!!

Eli,

Look at the "Absolute Maximum Ratings" section of the data sheet. I did not find any 20V fault protected outputs.
Please give more detail why this is needed. What supply voltages do you have available?

Needed for automotive requirements (no need for Q100) for 3.3V

Need something like MAX13223E
