tlk10232 Multirate support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK10232

Can TLK10232 support 2.5G as it supports 1G and 10G-KR?

Also, where can I get the answer for the price and lead time of this device?

  • Hi Truc,

The TLK10232 will support a 2.5G line rate on both the LS and HS portions of the chip. If you examine the general purpose mode section of the data sheet, section 5, it provides a detailed description of what the TLK10232 supports and how to configure it.

Samples of the TLK10232 are in stock now at http://www.ti.com/product/tlk10232 and according to the product page typical lead times are 4-8 weeks for 1k quantities. I am not sure how hard set that time is but your local TI sales rep or disty should be able to give you a better idea.

What region of the world are you in (i.e. country / city)? I may be able to help you get in contact with a TI sales rep or disty if need be.

  • Hi Michael,

Thanks for your quick response. I'm located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Can you help to get me in contact with a TI sales rep?

    Thanks,

    Truc

  • Hi Truc,

I am checking into this and will follow up with you soon.

  • Hi Truc,

Unfortunately TI does not have direct customer support in your area so you will have to contact a local distributor like Arrow Asia. I can continue to answer your technical questions on the forum though, so please let me know what other questions you have?

  • Hi Michael,

Yes, I have some technical points which need your clarifications as below

    1) Will the TLK10232 support multiple line rates of 1.25Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 3.125Gbps for the following modes? (Some information in the design we expect to be not public. Can I exchange more with you via email?)

    - 10GBASE-KR to Backplane
    - 10GBASE-R to SFP+
    - 1GBASE-KX to Backplane (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 1GBASE-X to SFP (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 1GBASE-KX to Backplane (1.25Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 1GBASE-X to SFP (1.25Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 2.5G (General purpose Serdes) to Backplane (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 2.5G (General purpose Serdes) to SFP (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 2.5G (General purpose Serdes) to Backplane (2.5Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 2.5G (General purpose Serdes) to SFP (2.5Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 3.125G (General purpose Serdes) to Backplane (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)
    - 3.125G (General purpose Serdes) to SFP (3.125Gbps between FPGA and PHY)

    2) Will the TLK10232 support extracting clock data recovery from line side to the FPGA for SyncE reference clock?

    Thanks,

    Truc

  • Hi Truc,

Sorry for my delay in response.

The answer to both of your questions is yes. We support all of the mentioned data rates and support clock recovery for sync.
