From customer:

"I want to write the software that will secure erase the SSD that is connected to the bridge chip (TUSB9261). I will be using SCSI ATA Passthrough to communicate with the bridge chip. I have done this before so I am familiar with SCSI / ATA Passthrough. However, I am unable to sucessfully send even the Identify Device command via ATA Passthrough. Is there perhaps a document available for the bridge chip that describes the ATA Passthrough CDB?"

Unfortunately there is no such a document but the expert confirmed that the only thing you have to do is to follow the industry specs.

In addendum to my last response, please notice that the SCSI/ATA translation layer handles SCSI commands from the active mass storage class (BOT or UAS) according to the SAT-2 specification, and for ATA devices, the SCSI block translates READ, WRITE, TEST UNIT READY, SYNCHRONIZE CACHE, ATA PASS-THROUGH, START STOP UNIT, commands to their ATA counterparts.
