DS90CF384A package thermal resistance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CF384A

Hello,

My customer uses the DS90CF384AMTD/NOPB.

He wants to know Package Thermal Resistance value.

Please tell me the Value.

Package: DGG-56(TSSOP)

Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hi Naoki-san,

The thermal resistance is given in the form of "package derate", which is the inverse of thermal resistance (degrees C/W). Please refer to the abx max table below:

    Thanks,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for your fast reply.

How about a junction-to-case thermal resistance?

My customer check a temperature of top of case.

So he wants to know a junction-to-case thermal resistance.

    Regards

    Naoki

  • Hi Naoki-san,

Unfortunately, the datasheet does not have this information, and I have found only limited resources about what the exact junction-to-case thermal resistance (Theta-JC) of the CF384A could possibly be.

As mentioned before, the Theta-JA can be calculated by taking the inverse of the derate, so 1/(0.0124) = 80.64 (C/W). I have found that for a similar 56-pin TSSOP package on an NSC legacy DS90CR581/DS90CR582, the junction-to-case thermal resistance is around 24-26.2. I cannot guarantee that the DS90CF384A will match within this range, but the figure should be a reasonable starting point.

    Thanks,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for your fast reply.

I will feedback to my customer your informations.

Because he can only check the package temperature, he wants to know Theta-JC.

I hope  that parameter will be mentioned on the datasheet someday.

    Thanks
