Can SN65LVDS1 & SN65LVDS2 be used for point-to-point clock distribution?

Hi Mohammed,

Yes the SN65LVDS1 and SN65LVDS2 can be used in a point to point clock distribution application. What is the input to the SN65LVDS1 going to be (i.e. TTL, LVTTL, LVCMOS)? Do you need to fan this clock out in your application to multiple devices on your board? I can recommend some fan out buffers for you.

Thanks for your reply.

SN65LVDS1 will be driven from an LVCMOS oscillator (24MHz). The clock is needed at only one device (CPLD), so I don't think there is a need for a fan-out buffer.
