FPD LINK III Connectors related

Hi,

We decided to use FPD LINK III chipset i.e. Ser/Des for Image sensor application. We would like to know the relevant connectors and cables with very low profile and flexible for this application.

Unfortunately we don't have any test validation about different cables, you may want to contact the cable manufacturers, I would expect they have tested the cables for different applications.

What is the distance you need to drive? Depending on the distance you could use USB type connectors and/or RJ45 types

Hi Vijay,

Distance can go upto 5 to 7 Mtrs max. Using USB would cause confusion since one more USB port would be present.

RJ45 would be little bigger form factor to use. So looking for something which is more reliable and better for LVDS data transfer at higher speed.

You could use automotive type connectors(leoni, molex etc), which are smaller form factors compared to RJ45, very reliable and robust

Hello,

I'm resuming this old thread since that I have the same question. I'm looking for a Cable/Connector combination to use with FPD Link III that is flexible and low profile. In my case the maximum distance is just a metre.

I don't understand if I can simply use a USB cable/connector as suggested in the answer regardless of the 90 vs 100 OHM differential impedance in the twisted pair? Apart from that detail it really looks like USB is a cheap and effective way to go to connect those interfaces.
