is there any known issues if the TFP401A takes input signals directly from the HDMI cable?

(Of course, I would provide external protection)

Or is a part like the MAX9406 is needed on the front end. (level shifter)

No emi issues. I just need to know if i can take a direct HDMI signal into the device or do i have to put a level shifter or something else in front like the maxim part i suggested above.

Hello,

Both HDMI and DVI use the same electrical levels, so yes, you can take a direct HDMI signal into the device.

Please note that the TFP device does not support HDMI signal with embedded audio, it must be video-only signal.
