DP83640 On Time Pulse

I'm having difficulty generating a 10ms on time pulse right at the zero nanosecond rollover. I tried configuring a trigger every seconds + 1, but I think I'm inadvertently overwriting/cancelling it on the next on time mark.

What's the best way to accomplish this?

  • Brad,

So you are trying to generate a Pulse Per Second (PPS) output with a 10ms high time, correct?  Could you provide the details of the configuration function or register writes you are using?  Which trigger are you using (Trigger0 or Trigger1)?

What are you seeing in your application after you configure the trigger?  Does it generate a single 10ms pulse or something else?

  • Patrick,

I was originally trying to create a PPS signal from the example in the software development guide, but soon realized that I wasn't starting on time. I've since fixed my problem by checking to see if the triggering expired before creating a new one... duh.
