PCI2S422ISO Win7 64bit Driver

We use RS485 card PCI2S422ISO in our test systems, which to date have used Dell 32bit Windows 7 computers. However, Dell is no longer selling 32bit systems, they have shifted to 64bit.

The PCI card uses chipset ID TL16C554A

Moving to a different card is not the best option as it may require re-wiring of our test systems in the field. Where can I find a 64bit Windows 7 driver for this card?

Hello Ben,

The TL16C554A does not need any driver, you only have to set the internal registers to the desired configuration and that's it. Maybe the software you are using is not able to address the internal registers of the TL16C554A on the 64 bits. Please contact to the card manufacturer for their software support.

TI designs and manufactures the TL16C554A chip.

This chip does not have a PCI interface, so the card needs another chip to interface between the UART and the PCI bus.
It is that interface chip that the driver is written for.

The PCI2S422ISO card is made by StarTech. The 64-bit driver on that page is from 2004.

The PCI interface chip is actually made by Sunix; you should try the driver for some random Sunix card (it's the same driver for all cards).
