DS15MB200 in a SGMII switching application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS15MB200, DS25MB200

Hello,

I need 1Gbit ethernet SGMII bus switch in my design.

I have two pair of SGMII TX signals and also two pair of SGMII RX signals.

  • One TX pair should be selected and sent to the outer world
  • One RX pair should be received from the outer world and sent to the relevant receiver side.

Is DS15MB200 correct choice for this application?

  • Hi Taner,

I recommend you should check the signal level requirements for SGMII TX and RX and make sure the part you choose is able to meet the requirements.

The DS15MB200 is LVDS mux buffer. Another similar part is DS25MB200, which is a CML mux-buffer, and has higher output drive amplitude.

In both cases, I expect you need to do AC coupling the signals from SGMII to/from the MB device.

    Regards,
