DS90CR286A question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90CR286A

Hello,

My customer uses the DS90CR286A.

A transmitter inputs signal to the DS90CR286A when VCC=0V.

I checked the absolute maximum ratings about LVDS input voltage, -0.3 to VCC+0.3V.

So that condition is forbidden.

But the FIG.7 on the datasheet, there is a RxCLK IN when VCC=0V.

Is it possible to input LVDS signal when VCC=0V without the device destruction?

Regards,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hi Naoki-san,

The absolute maximum ratings refer to the absolute maximum ratings that the part can experience during operation before permanent damage occurs. These ratings are primarily referred to when VCC is within the recommended operating conditions.

In the situation you mentioned with VCC=0, we cannot guarantee the behavior of the device when an input LVDS signal is applied and VCC = 0V, because there is no guarantee about what internal structures may be turned on as a result of the applied signal.

We advise that if no power is applied to the part (or VCC < minimum recommended operating conditions in this case), that no LVDS input signal be applied to the part.

    Thanks,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for your fast reply.

I will feedback to my customer the information.
