TFP401A single ended?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401A

Team,

Customer has the following question:

Please look at this and let me know what you think;

If I were to use the TI TFP401A as a single ended DVI receiver instead of differential.  What would TI recommend I do with the other signal?  For instance, say I have RX2+ but do not have RX2-.  Should I:

1. Leave it floating

2. Terminate it to 3.3V.

3. Terminate it to GND.

4. Create a voltage divider such that the RX2+ signal swings both above and below this RX- threshold

Regards,

Aaron

  • Hello Aaron,

       The voltage divider would be the option for the customer (the values for the resistors will be highly dependent on the characteristics of the input signal source ),however you must notice that this will not be an standard implementation and thus, TI cannot guarantee an appropriate functionality of the device, since the input will increase its sensitivity to external perturbations and temperature.

    Best regards,

    Diego.
