Can I use thic IC for ESD and EMI protection of USB 3.0 ?

Or what is the best solution from TI for ESD/EMI and over-current protection for USB 3.0?

USB 3.0 has Hi-Speed Data lines from USB 2.0 (480 mbps), Super Speed lines from USB 3.0 (5 Gbps), and VBUS. Protecting this port against ESD will depend upon which line you are protecting. For the Hi_Speed lines use TPD2E2U06, for the Super Speed lines use TPD4E110 or TPD4E05U06. For VBUS we have many protection devices, for example: TPD4S012, TPD4S014, TPD1S514, TPD4S214.

It's not a requirement nor have I seen it implemented by customers. However, the operating environment should dicatate the need or not.
