TUSB2036 and USB Compliance Testing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB2036

I have a hub design that utilizes the TUSB2036 USB Hub and I am trying to verify the design is meeting USB specifications by means of the USBHSET tool set provided by USB.org. I am connected to the Upstream port through a Tektronix USB test fixture which is then connected to a Windows 7 PC running the USBHSET tool set.

With this setup I can enumerate the bus see the TUSB2036 hub and can also initial a few commands (suspend, resume, sleep, wakeup) but when I try to run the Test Packet command, the command fails.

Is the TUSB2036 capable of generating a test packet from a command sent from USBHSET tool?

  • Hi Bradley,

The USBHSET tool is only intended for USB High Speed Electrical testing and the TUSB2036 is a FS Hub.

The way to generate the 'test packet' for Signal Integrity tests (and other electrical tests) is by connecting a USB compliant device to the hub, like a USB thumb drive. If you whish to generate a packet for LS Signal Integrity tests, you should connect a LS device such a mouse.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

    Best Regards,

    Alexis Cortes.
