Would you mind if we ask Ethernet Compliance Test UTP AOI Template(Reference: ANSI X3.263-1995 AnnexJ) using DP83848I?

    Matsumoto-san,

    The UTP AOI measurements are made with the device sending 100Base-TX scrambled idles (MLT-3 encoded /I/ code-groups).  This is the default output for the device when configured for 100Base-TX.  Therefore, the only configuration required is configuring the device for 100Base-TX.  This is accomplished by writing 0x2100 to the BMCR (register address 0x00).

    The document says as followings;
    －The UTP AOI Template test is provided for informative purposes.
    －The specification does not require that this test be run, 
       but it may be useful in providing insight of potential signal quality issues.

    Is UTP AOI Template test absolutely required for Ethernet Compliance Test?
    It is for only informative purposes, or not?
