Hi,

We are using DP83630 in our products. And now we found an issue when we connect to a 10BASE-T HUB and always got bad packets (BAD CRC) in MAC. By checking the setting in DP83630, we found that the bit LOOPBACK_10_DIS in 10BTSCR is 0, which means that the 10BT loopback is enabled. After disable this LOOPBACK, no bad packets any more.

Normally, this LOOPBACK should not be enabled by default. My question is whether there is an easy way to disable this LOOPBACK by default? and how?

Eric,

Could you provide a register dump when the DP83630 is linked to the 10BASE-T Hub? Please provide the registers after the device has linked, but before any packets are transmitted or received.

We would want to see the registers on register page 0x00. Please read all registers twice and report both values. Some registers latch their initial status so they must be read twice to get the current status.

Our trouble was caused by the LOOPBACK_10_DIS bit (which is the 8th bit of the PAGE 0 10BTSCR). The default value is 0, which means 10BT Loopback is enabled. And if we don't disable it, it will cause trouble when connecting to the 10BT HUB. The problem was solved by setting the bit.
