External termination resister

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0394, LMH0366, LMH0302

Dear specialist

Our customer has been evaluating using samples as below.

LMH0302SQE
LMH0366SQE
LMH0394SQE

They have a issue that occur large jitter at final output and not meet standards.

They have been confirmed if the pattern between LMH0394SQE to LMH0366SQE was adjusted , waveform is getting better.

Is it required external termination resister?

Please let me know about the above.

Best regards.

  • I am sorry.
Our cusotmer's question is whether external termination resister can be placed.

When the pattern between equalizer and reclocker is adjusted , jitter is reduced.
Therefore , they have consider to place external termination resister.

Are there any concern about the above?

    Best regards.

  • Alpha, the LMH0394 requires an external termination resistor (and AC coupling capacitor) on the input, but nothing on the output.

The LMH0366 does not require termination resistors on the inputs or the outputs.

The LMH0302 will require a 100 Ohm termination resistor across it's inputs, and a 75Ohm termination resistor between each output and the Vcc rail.   In addition, a network to improve return loss, as shown in the datasheet is recommended.
