Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDS141
Dear Sir
We have a question to ask about TMDS141. Can we swap pin each one set??
ex. RX0+ / TX0+, RX0- / TX0- pin name but we connect RX1+ / TX1+, RX1- / TX1-
Thanks,
Ramon

Dear Sir
Thanks for your answer. I have an other issue.
How long Differential Signal (max.) for TMDS141 to connector??
I have a design, Intel Ivy bridge with H61, the Differential Signal is total 9.3" to board to board connector. Now, I have a design for I/O board. The TMDS141 input Differential Signal is about 2" (It is total under 12" for chipset design guideline), but output Differential Signal to HDMI connector is about 13.4"-13.6". Is it okay??
Thanks,
Ramon
Hello,
13" of trace length is too long, you may have signal integrity issues, I recommend you to place the TMDS141 half way the distance so you can have about 7" at both sides, even with 7" you have to do a very clean design.
Generally, we recommend to keep the maximum trace length under ~5 inches. FR4 material is generally fairly lossy at higher frequencies which increases signal attenuation. If the intra-pair trace lengths are tightly matched, and care should be taken to route the signals away from noise sources the 7 inch trace length should be ok to use. We would also recommend possibly using a guard trace on both sides of each twisted pair is room allows.
Regards.
