TUSB9261 / Use Hub for only USB 2.0 High-speed

Hi All,

Our customer consider to use both USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and USB 2.0 High-speed, but use Hub for only USB 2.0 as below. Do you have any concern for such configuration? Your comments will be appreciated.

Hello,

that won't work unless the host enables only one of its port at a time, and if so, the TUSB9261 will have to be power cycled.

Hi Elias-san,

Thank you for your comments. I understand that this configuration can be used when USB host, USB2.0 Hub and TUSB9261. Is my understanding correct?

Hello,

The TUSB9261 requires to be connected to one single upstream port, it can't be connected to two different USB ports.

In your block diagram, assuming on of the Host's ports is disabled then it could work but that is a non-standard application and I don't think you could ever pass compliance testing.

Hi Elias-san,

I understand that TUSB9261 should be connect to one port, USB2.0 or USB3.0. I'll recommend to use only USB3.0 port for TUSB9261 like attached.
