Hi,

I have a question about CAN Tranceiver SN65HVD230.

In datasheet page.8 "RECEIVER ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS",
there are Rdiff(Differential input resistance) and RI(CANH, CANL input resistance).
Each resistance value is as following:
Rdiff : 40kΩ to 100kΩ
RI    : 20kΩ to  50kΩ

Is these resistor integrated inside the SN65HVD230(internal resistor) or
should the user need to install on the board?

    Hi G.F.

    These are the characteristic impedances of the devices as is, no external circuitry. Externally you should be connecting termination resistors on each end of the bus which should be twisted piar cabling.
