About performance information of TUSB9261

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261

Hello,

Now, I connect in SATA. But I investigate that I connect via USB3.0-SATA bridge LSI.

I have two questions about TUSB9261.

1.

Please teach me the following specifications. (I hope for a result using exerciser to exclude performance of SATA device oneself.)

 Throughput: the result of CrystalDiskMark

Latency: the result of bus analyzer of USB and SATA.

2.

Please tell me whether performance deteriorates in comparison with a case of the SATA connection when I publish what kind of command. (Please tell the deterioration degree if possible.)

Regards,

Daisuke

  • Hello Daisuke-san,

Could you re-elaborate the questions?. I can't clearly understand your statements. Are you asking for the definition of latency and throughput?

    Regards,

    Diego.

  • Hello Diego,
    Thank you for your reply.

    Yes.
I need the definition of latency and throughput.

And I want to know commands that deteriorate these performances.
    (If there are.)

    Best regards,
    Daisuke
  • Hello Daisuke,

The throughput is is the rate of successful message delivery over a communication channel. In the case of the TUSB9261 the throughput is affected by many factors; like the SATA drive attached to it, the USB driver, the available USB bandwidth at the moment, the load on the OS and the quality of the USB3 and SATA channels.

    Best regards,
    Diego.
  • Hello Diego,
    Thank you for your reply.

    1.
There is not the throughput data?
Does the OS mean "Operating System"?

    2.
    Is there the latency data?

    3.
Is there commands that deteriorate these performances?

Because they depend on the external environment, do the data not exist?

    Best regards,
    Daisuke
  • Hello Daisuke,

Here you go the feedback to your questions:

1.- Yes it does, OS stands for Operating System, and pleas send me an email to diego.cortes@ti.com in order to share the throughput data.

2.- No, we do not have such data.

3.- I have no record about any command that deteriorates the performance.

    Best regards,
    Diego.
