Pass and Lock Level of DS90UB914A-Q1 on BCI Test

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB914A-Q1

Dear All...

My customer is testing the SERDES module (SER module + DES module) on BCI EMC Test.

The Pass and Lock level of DS90UB914A-Q1 are dropped from 3.3V to 1.7V on BCI Test.

But the video of camera and supply voltage level of IC is normal.

According to the datasheet of IC, V(OH) range of control output is 2.4V(min) ~ Vddio(max) and

V(OL) range of control output is GND(min) ~ 0.4V(max).

I want to know that 1.7V level can be V(OH) level.

I need your help.

  • Hi JaePhil,

Can you please have your customer check their output levels as well (ROUT[0]-ROUT[11]) on the 914A? I believe that the Pass and Lock levels have the same voltage levels as VDD_IO supply/DES outputs. Assuming they are the same levels, if the Pass and Lock level are dropped from 3.3V to 1.7V and VDD_IO = 3.3V during BCI test, then this would be a failure since the deserializer outputs will also be at ~ 1.7V. This voltage level is below V(OH) as shown in the datasheet.

    Best regards,
    Sean
  • Hi Sean

As you comment me, the Pass, Lock level have a same voltage level as VDD_IO and Des output level.
Could you recommend to me the guide of SERDES for BCI test.
    Thanks
